Governor Sonny Perdue signs Commendation designating March 29,
2005 as
Redcoat Marching Band Day in Georgia. At a signing ceremony
at the State Capital,
the governor honored the Redcoat's 100 Seasons of service to
the University of Georgia.

At the signing ceremony, Governor Perdue was presented with
a special copy
of the Ken Modak Commemorative
Print that celebrates the band's 100 year history.

The Governor's
Commendation honoring the Redcoats touched on a 100 year
tradition, filled with meaning for those of us that have enjoyed

The Governor, a graduate of the University of Georgia Vet School,
jokingly asked,
"You ARE going to leave that picture with me, aren't you?"
