Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue Honors
Redcoat Marching Band by Commendation

    Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue signs Commendation designating March 29, 2005 as
    Redcoat Marching Band Day in Georgia.  At a signing ceremony at the State Capital,
    the governor honored the Redcoat's 100 Seasons of service to the University of Georgia.


    At the signing ceremony, Governor Perdue was presented with a special copy
    of the Ken Modak Commemorative Print that celebrates the band's 100 year history.
    David Romines (left) and Ken Modak (right) made the presentation to the Governor.  


    The Governor's Commendation honoring the Redcoats touched on a 100 year
    tradition, filled with meaning for those of us that have enjoyed the Redcoat experience.  Click on the Commendation to see larger view.

    The Governor, a graduate of the University of Georgia Vet School, jokingly asked,
